Top pick: #4 (SEEKING THE SHERIFF) (8-5) - Speedy gelding has gone 4-3-1-0 since coming off a 9 1/2 month layoff in late December. He's improved noticeably since being claimed out of his return run by Ron Ellis and looks set for another big effort.
2nd pick: #3 (Declassify) (6-5) - The probable favorite, colt won his first pair a year ago in very impressive style but following a four month layoff he tired badly in his return race Oct. 6. On the sidelines since, son of "Orientate" is working bullets at Los Alamitos and he's in the top barn of Bob Baffert. Obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Omega Star) (6-1) - In shape gelding is cutting back in distance and a wide and even effort here at this level going a mile April 13th. He'd been sharp in three straight sprints prior to that and one-run type will be making up ground during the stretch run.
