Top pick: #4 (LA SORELLA) (2-1) - The probable favorite, lightly-raced filly missed by less than a length racing at this famous "down the hill" trip on Feb. 17. She's worked three times since and "Hall of Famer" Mike Smith should get her home on top.
2nd pick: #5 (Nazareth) (3-1) - Dangerous foe, filly has finished third here on this course in both starts and is cutting back in distance for this. One-run type is an obvious threat, but has Mike Smith "jump ship" for "Sorella."
3rd pick: #6 (La Pequena) (9-2) - Claimed out of her debut for $50K by Mark Glatt, filly was less than a length back of "Sorella" in her first for the new barn. Fits and that last effort was her first on the grass.
4th pick: #2 (Miss Super Quick) (8-1) - New York invader hasn't raced since early Sept. at Belmont when she tired after pressing the pace in a 7-furlong turf contest. Working well for her return, she has a new trainer (Rick Mandella) for her West Coast debut.
