Top pick: #1 (KNOCK EM FLAT) (5-1) - Once classier type is racing as first-time-gelding and is dropping to a new low in class. Speedy sort is working fast for his first since the minor operation and is breaking from the rail. Has a solid shot at a square price.
2nd pick: #4 (City State) (7-2) - He's facing winners for the first time following an impressive maiden win here going 7-furlongs on Feb. 12th. By far a career best, and the 'figure' earned was the highest any of these has reached in the past six months. Must be considered a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Divine Mission) (8-1) - Lightly raced 4yo by 'Tale of the Cat' is dropping in class, moving from turf to dirt, and lengthening out in distance. Speed/stalker broke his maiden on the local dirt going 5.5-furlongs in late October.
4th pick: #6 (Sum Midnight Star) (7-2) - Lightly raced and well bred, he was a daylight maiden winner here going 6.5-furlongs on Jan. 25th. 4yo son of 'Midnight Lute' tired last out in his first facing winners. Trainer Bob Baffert drops him in class and stretches him out in distance. Can't eliminate him in a rather 'puzzling' field.
