She broke sharply, set/pressed a very quick pace, then weakened late to check in third. Trainer Mike McCarthy brings her back of of some fast works and drops her in class.
2nd pick: #6 (Rizzi's Honor) (5-2) - Dangerous today as she's dropping into a claimer for the first time. Three-year-old has a speed/stalking style and has finished third in all three starts facing tougher. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Princess Ashlyn) (5-1) - A bit of a head case, she often battles her riders as much as the other horses. That said, she's quick from the gate, switches from turf to dirt, drops back down in class, and is racing second back of almost an eight week break. Can factor at a square price.
4th pick: #4 (La Galy) (7-2) - Filly chased and held down the place spot racing for a $50K tag April 21 at Los Alamitos. Nice effort and stalker has trained above average since. Three-year-old must be left in the mix.
