Top pick: #6 (L'ANCH) - Lightly-raced filly finished a pace-chasing third at this level at Hollywood Park Dec 17, and did so with blinkers on and on a stretch out in distance. Daughter of "Bernstein" has since come back with a pair of excellent works on the new dirt surface here and she gets a major rider switch today to Jeff Talamo. Appears to have the most speed in this small field and she'll be very tough to beat in this spot.
2nd pick: #1 (Confectionist) - Races for the first time since late Nov, and filly was showing some improvement at that time. Freshened up for the past 7 weeks, she draws the rail and tries two turns for the first time. Working very frequently for her return, she has six published drills since her last race. In a barn that's better than its record and its good to see Pat Valenzuela take the re-ride. Contender from her inside draw.
