Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (SABINOS PRIDE) (2-1) - A $230,000 daughter of 'Liam's Map,' she finished 2nd sprinting at this tag Nov. 29 at Del Mar. It was her first in a claimer, has worked three times since, and has the rail as she stretches out to a mile. I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #5 (K P Cats Wild) (8-1) - This longshot had a very wide trip when beaten 10 lengths at this level and distance Dec. 14 at Del Mar. She draws better today, and I think she can factor at a square price against a pretty weak group on paper.
3rd pick: #2 (Subtle Ride) (5-1) - She 'hit the gate' at the break before improving a bit late when debuting at 6.5 furlongs Dec. 15 at Los Alamitos. Trainer Craig Lewis has won with five of 12 second time starters since Jan. 1 of 2019, and that stat is hard to ignore.
