Top pick: #10 (D'WILDBUNCH) - He's (0-2-1) in his last three starts, is clearly improving, and in this past fall's meet here, he ran well in both starts on the conventional dirt. Trainer Kristin Mulhall has given him a month since his last race and gelding has a pair of fine works showing. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Rio Good) - The speed nearest the rai, this home-bred by "Rio Verde" finished a close-up fourth at Hollywood just two weeks ago at this price. Grey colt had a tough outside post that day and draws much better as trainer Gary Sherlock adds blinkers.
3rd pick: #1 (Royal Alexander) - Price play showed some speed before tiring in his debut, then ran evenly last out after having some traffic turning for home. Has the rail and he'll be racing on real dirt for the first time.
4th pick: #5 (Run Charlie Run) - He's improved in both starts since debuting, and has finished third in that pair at Hollywood racing at this price. $100K son of "Indian Charlie" has a bullet work here 10 days ago and looks set for his best.
