Top pick: #7 (PURE STORM) - Filly missed by a head here racing for $8000 on Jan. 14 in her best start since last May and was claimed that afternoon by trainer Bob Diodoro. He's worked her on the Jan. 30 and raises her just a bit in price. She had a fine year in 2011, going (11-2-4-2) and is about equal on both "poly" and conventional dirt. Speed/stalker is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Roman Chic) - Speedy mare went wire to wire here on Jan. 14 racing for $8K and will race today off a negative barn change via a claim. She's won two of her last three and will be tough if she clears off without a struggle.
3rd pick: #4 (Lady Alex) - Longshot is an uncoupled barn-mate of "Storm" and she'll drop way down in price and go turf to dirt in this spot. Mare chased and tired facing tougher on the grass her just nine days ago in her first back off a two-month break. Very dangerous at long odds.
