Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (LADY PHYLLIS) (3-1) - Filly has been competitive in all three starts and stretch runner has some changes today that can see her in the winner's circle. Last out she rallied to miss by a length facing a bit tougher going a mile on the Del mar turf Nov. 19. It was her first since arriving from Florida where she went 2-1-1-0 in a pair of dirt sprints. Working steadily, she has the rail, drops slightly, and trainer Phil D'Amato adds blinkers.
2nd pick: #3 (La Chepis) (5-1) - Daughter of 'Super Saver' enters off a near miss (a 'neck') going 5.5 furlongs at Los Alamitos at this level Dec. 9. It was her first facing winners and first following a Keith Desormeaux claim. Stalker is a win candidate in this spot.
3rd pick: #4 (Miss Viola) (9-2) - She's been freshened up since a very poor start here at this level Oct. 9. Very sharp in her previous pair, she fits with these if either of those two efforts are repeatable.
4th pick: #6 (Krissy's Manicure) (2-1) - Improving home bred is facing winners for the first time. Stalker broke her maiden going 6.5 furlongs at Del Mar Nov. 23 racing for a $50K claiming price. She draws outside of the speed and is a stretch threat at a short price.
