Top pick: #6 (K THIRTY EIGHT) (3-1) - Gelding comes off a "neck" loss at this level on March 15th. Speed/stalker has worked fast since and 3-year-old by "Surf Cat" is much the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Next Book) (5-2) - He's been sharp in both starts and last out was only a "nose" back of "K Thirty Eight." He has early speed, draws the rail, and is making back-to-back starts for the first time. Major threat.
3rd pick: #10 (Burnaroundtheedges) (8-1) - One of six first-time-starters entered, gelding has some very sharp local works on view and trainer Don Warren has his "go-to" rider (Joe Talamo) aboard. Three-year-old has a nice outside post and is a threat if he runs to his AM drills.
4th pick: #9 (Sir Persevere) (9-2) - Another making his debut, 4-year-old is from the same barn (Marty Jones) as "Next Book." Working fast at Los Alamitos and it's of note that Bejarano is aboard.
