Top pick: #9 (SEEDSANDSTEMSAGAIN) (9-2) - Speed/stalker set a quick and pressured pace and held gamely to finish fourth of 11. beaten just over a length racing here at this level and distance March 22nd. He's back in shape following an eight month layoff and he moves out in the gate a bit for this attempt. The horse to beat, but make sure you reverse your exactas.
nd pick: #7 (Unusualy) (9-2) - Very lightly-raced son of 'Unusual Heat' rallied from close range to 'nose' 'Seedsandstemsagain' out of the show spot March 22nd. It was his first on the grass and a big improvement over his debut Jan 24. Dangerous foe.
rd pick: #1 (Vow to Be Tops) (20-1) - Longshot was never involved after breaking slowly when debuting here on the dirt April 18th. Bred for the grass, trainer Mark Glatt brings him back quickly. Colt by 'Broken Vow' had some impressive works before his debut and probably has much more talent than shown that afternoon.
th pick: #11 (Shanty Irish) (4-1) - He made up some ground last out facing open company Feb 7. Nice effort came in his grass debut and trainer Mike Puype has him working fast and in with fellow Calif-breds in this spot.
th pick: #8 (Pay the Fine) (7-2) - Reddam home bred makes his grass debut and moves back in with fellow maidens after a useful effort in a $200K dirt stakes April 4th. Trainer Doug O'Neill won three races on yesterday's card here. Must be left in the overall mix.
