Top pick: #2 (CONQUEST ECLIPSE) (7-2) - She rallied to finish third, beaten a length in the "Del Mar Debutante" (G1) going 7-furlongs Aug. 30. It was her first since winning her debut at Churchill June 29 and speed/stalker has been working fast locally for this G1. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Sunday Sonnet) (6-1) - Very quick from the gate, she ships in from the east coast where she went 3-1-2-0. Stakes placed on the Saratoga turf Aug. 27, she's been working fast since and should be involved from gate-to-wire.
3rd pick: #4 (Angela Renee) (3-1) - Pletcher trained shipper caught a sloppy track last out at Saratoga and and also had some trouble at the start in her latest. Stakes placed twice and it's of note that Bejarano is aboard for her west coast debut.
4th pick: #3 (Danette) (12-1) - Maiden is improving and stalker had a really sharp 6-furlong gate breeze here just eight days ago. She's proven that she can pass other horses and can factor at a big price.
5th pick: #11 (Majestic Presence) (6-1) - Filly comes off a gate-to-wire maiden win going a mile at Del Mar Aug. 13. Working well here since then, filly must overcome a tough outside post this afternoon.
