Top pick: #14 (REALLY A PRINCESS) (5-2) - The probable favorite, speedy filly missed by a "neck" here at this level going 6-furlongs Oct. 4. It was her first ever in a claimer and she's worked twice since. The cut back of a 1/16th is in her favor and she's the horse to beat despite the outside post.
2nd pick: #13 (Powerful Girl) (12-1) - Longshot has taken betting action in both starts and last out was 7 1/2 lengths back of "Really a Princess" following her second consecutive troubled break. She's worked nicely since and think she's a factor at a big price.
3rd pick: #12 (Kat's Hurricane) (3-1) - Filly chased and held to finish a close up third when debuting against weaker on the Del Mar "poly' Aug. 27. Working steadily since, she's moving up in class, switches to real dirt, and trainer Len Powell replaces Couton with Bejarano.
4th pick: #2 (Gold Journey) (8-1) - Filly was heavily favored on Aug. 14 at Del Mar but finished a close up fourth when racing for a $30K tag. Claimed that day by Kathy Walsh, she's had her on the sidelines since and has her working fast at Los Alamitos. Stalker moves up in class and is racing on conventional dirt for the first time.
5th pick: #1 (Scatajawea) (10-1) - One of three making their debuts, daughter of "Scat Daddy" is working steadily, is from a good barn (Mike Puype), she draws the rail. Could factor with an alert getaway.
