2nd pick: #4 (Bowie) (5-2) - Interesting filly cost $750,000 and has been away from action since July 22 of 2016 at Saratoga. She went wire-to-wire that afternoon for her maiden win in what has been her only start to date. She has a new trainer (Rick Mandella), and he had her work six furlongs here in 1:12.60 Oct. 14. Daughter of 'Malibu Moon' could win this if ready.
3rd pick: #10 (Marley's Ghost) (7-2) - Filly paid $79.80 when she broke her maiden in front running style Sept. 4 at Del Mar. Only here third lifetime start, it was her first since she ran here a year ago. Dangerous if that overall effort is repeatable.
4th pick: #8 (Discatsonthesquare) (10-1) - Another veteran mare, this 6yo has been idle since Aug. 20 when she ran both wide and evenly at this level and distance. Almost all of her best efforts have come here (10-2-2-2), and she can factor at a square price with her best.
