Filly has a new trainer (Mike Puype 65-16-7-10 at this meet) and 3-year-old is working very fast for this. She meets a weak field and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Vumbura) - Debuting daughter of "In Excess" is working steadily, above average, and trainer Kathy Walsh has won with 6 of her last 18 runners making their debut. Has the rail and is a win candidate if ready.
3rd pick: #7 (Benecia Beauty) - Grey filly finished second here at thi price in late Dec. and has shown some speed in a pair of subsequent starts. Working nicely and home-bred can contend with her best.
4th pick: #5 (Savy Secret) - She chased and tired in her debut after being "bumped" at the start and has come back with a bullet work since. In the dangerous barn of Jeff Mullins and she's a contender with a clean start.
