Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (PATIENCE OF A SAINT) (8-1) - One of two entered by trainer Ed Freeman, Reddam home bred showed good early speed before weakening late to finish fourth at this level and distance March 11. By far a career best, it was his first ever on the grass. Has a shot at a big price.
2nd pick: #10 (Salient) (5-1) - The second of the Freeman trained pair, he's been on the sidelines since Nov. 25. He finished a close up third that day going a mile at Del Mar and is a strong factor if ready.
3rd pick: #1 (Gosofar) (7-2) - Speed/stalker checked in an even fourth at this level and distance Feb. 2. It was his first ever on the grass and an encouraging start. Working fast, has the inside, and Gary Stevens is aboard.
4th pick: #7 (Insubordination) (3-1) - The probable favorite, he's finished third in both starts, the latest coming here at this trip facing 'open' company April 2. In with fellow state breds, he's making back-to-back starts and Bejarano is aboard for this attempt. An obvious factor.
