Top pick: #3 (APPEALING LADY) (6-5) - The probable favorite, she's been freshened up since a second-place finish when sprinting at Del Mar Aug. 21. Heavily backed in both starts, trainer John Sadler switches her to real dirt and stretches her out in distance. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Take Back Spring) (5-1) - Price play is the field's most experienced maiden and has been freshened up since Aug. 8. Working well locally and I think she'll like today's longer distance.
3rd pick: #5 (Moonie) (9-2) - Reddam home bred enters off a second-place finish when sprinting at Los Al on Sept. 19. Nice effort and this filly has more natural speed than most.
4th pick: #1 (Artemisia) (7-2) - She rallied to check in a distant third when debuting in a Del Mar sprint Sept. 3. Filly had some problems at the break and had to race wide throughout that afternoon. She has the rail and should impact with an alert getaway.
