Top pick: #8 (YA WANNA HUG) - Filly ran well on this strip last winter and raced evenly despite some serious traffic issues at Del Mar on Sept. 3 in her first since Jan. 27. Trainer Rick Mandella brings her back in five weeks and drops her back down to run for a $40K tag. Daughter of "Bertrando" missed by a neck here at that price last Dec. 30. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Tiz a Daisy) - 4-year-old continues to race evenly and has managed to grab a pair of minor aards in two of five starts with that style. This will be her first ever on real dirt and it could prove beneficial.
3rd pick: #1 (Hello Stormy) - Nice debut at Del Mar on Aug. 30 saw her set a pressured pace and hold gamely to finish second racing for a $20K price tag. Working well on this surface, filly has the rail and moves up a bit in price.
