Top pick: #3 (JAZZY JOSH) (2-1) - On the sidelines since March 21, gelding tracked, bid, then tired that afternoon racing in the Pasadena Stakes on this course and distance. Stalker is working fast for his return, drops way down in class, and has blinkers back on after a one race experiment. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Ernest Shackleton) (5-2) - NEW gelding is another dropping down from stakes to race for a $50K claiming tag. Irish bred is working fast and trainer Doug O'Neill will put blinkers on this classier type for the first time. An obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Dynamite Ride) (5-1) - Unraced since April 5, trainer Tim Yakteen drops him down a bit and stretches him back out in distance. Gelding by 'Candy Ride' ran evenly while very last out going 6.5-furlongs 'down the hill' here. In late January he finished a solid third here at this mile trip and was just over two lengths behind 'Shackleton' that afternoon.
4th pick: #5 (Follow Me Crew) (3-1) - Lightly raced and improving, he moves back to the turf after a near miss here on the dirt at this distance May 2. A career best, he's working fast for this assignment.
