Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (CAERULEAN) (4-1) - Reddam home-bred was away slowly and tired late to finish 4th, beaten 3.5 lengths when debuting here in a six-furlong dirt sprint at this level Feb. 29. Trainer Ben Cecil brings him back in four weeks, switches him to the grass, and most by his sire 'Square Eddie' love the turf. I give him a very slim edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Brix) (2-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, he rallied to finish 2nd here at this level and distance March 1 in his third start back after spending 1.5 months on the sidelines. The 4yo has a ground-saving post, is a strong win candidate, and I could have easily made him the top selection.
3rd pick: #6 (Handsome Cat) (5-1) - Another by 'Square Eddie,' he raced both wide and evenly when finishing 4.5 lengths in back of 'Brix' March 1. It was his first start since Aug. 22, and it earned him a career-best figure. This gelding is capable of factoring with some improvement.
