Top pick: #4 (AMERICAN PRIDE) (6-5) - The probable favorite, colt is working fast locally for his first race since finishing second at this level on the Del Mar "poly" on July 27. Heavily backed in both outings, he's the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Rusty Road) (4-1) - One of four making their debuts, gelding by "Point Given" has some sharp local drills on view and is in the barn of "Hall of Famer" Rick Mandella. He may have some talent.
3rd pick: #2 (Knuckle Curve) (4-1) - Trainer Ron Ellis is not known for first out success, but he has this colt working both steadily and above average for his initial attempt. Son of "Proud Citizen" will probably be bet if he has ability.
4th pick: #3 (Steep N Deep) (6-1) - Colt by "Flatter" is yet another working fast, and several sharp gate breezes are noted. Trainer Tim Yakteen had a maiden winner on yesterday's card and I think this 3yo will be a big price.
