Top pick: #6 (PAT'S BACK) (5-2) - Lightly-raced filly has been freshened up since early Dec. Speedy sort has a new trainer (Pete Miller) and he'll drop her in class, switch her conventional dirt for the first time, and adds blinkers.
2nd pick: #3 (Sallyana) (3-1) - Reported to be a runner before her debut, Arizona-bred filly was an easy wire-to-wire winner at Turf Paradise when owner/breeder/trainer Kory Owens had her racing in a stakes for fellow state-breds on Nov. 24. Working nicely here and I almost made her the top pick.
3rd pick: #5 (Spooky Lady) (8-5) - Claimed out of her winning debut by John Sadler for $50K, filly finished third when facing allowance foes at Hollywood on Dec. 7 in her first for the new barn. On the sidelines since, she's working nicely for her first on real dirt and Sadler drops her down to the claimed price.
