Top pick: #5 (BIG TSIMMIS) - She's one of two entered by trainer Jack Carava and the pair will race as separate interests. Stalker has finished second in three of her last four starts and should get a fast pace to rally into if all go. Marty Pedroza, the rider for Carava chooses this filly.
2nd pick: #2 (Ziva) - Speedy Arizona-bred broke her maiden here on Nov. 4 when she rallied from far back, then set a fast pace and held to finish second on Jan. 22 in an upper-level starter-allowance here in her first facing winners. More than capable barn (owner/trainer/breeder Rory Owens) has her set for a big effort.
3rd pick: #6 (After Later) - Working very fast for her first race since late July, trainer Pat Biancone will drop this 4-year-old daughter of "Orientate" into a claimer for the first time. Can factor, but will probably be overbet.
