Top pick: #7 (SPIRIT OF TEN) (3-1) - She enters off a sharp gate-to-wire win here racing at this distance for an $8000 tag on Jan. 17th. Claimed that afternoon by Mark Glatt, he's worked her twice since, and brings her back with a slight raise in price.
2nd pick: #6 (Lust for Life) (6-1) - Lightly raced filly has been competitive in her last five starts dating back to last June. She rallied strongly to just miss here at this level going 6.5-furlongs on Jan. 17th. It was her first in three months, and trainer Rich Baltas brings her back quickly and stretches her out in distance. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Silk N Silver) (4-1) - Mare has more career wins (five) than any other entered in today's opener. Speed/stalker has a fine local record (9-4-1-2) and moves to the rail. 5yo is racing first off a claim and is a win candidate if she holds her current form.
4th pick: #3 (Belonging) (5-1) - She's dropping in class, switching from grass to dirt, and shortening up a bit in distance. More than capable of impacting against these, and it's apprentice Green off and veteran Delgadillo on.
