Top pick: #11 (JUSTONEMORETHING) (3-1) - He's been competitive in all three starts, and last out at Los Alamitos finished a pace-pressing third racing at this level going 5.5-furlongs on Dec. 11th. He draws outside of the speed types and can take this from just off the pace.
2nd pick: #7 (Hot Lightning) (5-2) - He enters off a narrow loss on the Del Mar "poly" going a mile for a $30K tag Nov. 23rd. Claimed that day by Alf Marquez, he has him working fast, will shorten him up in distance, and switch him back to conventional dirt. It's a plus that Bejarano stays aboard.
3rd pick: #3 (Guyfromskyfive) (3-1) - The probable heavy favorite, he's finished second in all three starts. All have been at this level with two coming on synthetic surfaces and one here on real dirt. Stalker is an obvious win candidate.
4th pick: #4 (Royal Gambler) (10-1) - One of four that are making their debuts, Dominguez home bred has some fine local works on view and can factor at a square price if ready.
