#4 RUN REBECCA RUN (9/2) This mare has been inconsistent throughout her career, to say the least, but she's also run some big races. She came off a 5-month layoff Jan 16 and beat a solid field on the main track. Mike Mitchell claimed her from that race, and he's won at nearly a 30% rate with newly claimed horses over the last 14 months. However, he pitched her too high in a $300,000 stakes race just 12 days after the claim, and she could do no better than split the field to finish 5th. It was still a solid effort, and she now drops to a logical class level while getting plenty of time between starts. The last time that she raced on turf was a year ago at this same trip in a stakes race, and she lost by just over 2 lengths. A similar effort would probably beat this claiming field, and I think she's set for a big effort with 5 weeks between starts and some solid works in the interum.
