2nd pick: #3 (Bruhlmeyer) (3-1) - One of two entered by trainer Bret Calhoun and the pair race uncoupled. State bred set a pressured pace and held gamely to finish second here at this level and distance Sept. 29. It was a big move forward off his Aug. 25 debut and he's an obvious contender.
3rd pick: #5 (Kingsville) (4-1) - NEW gelding has rallied strongly in his first pair one each on dirt and turf. He received late betting action in both and enters off a sharp half-mile work Oct. 7.
4th pick: #12 (Night Strike) (7-2) - The second of the pair from trainer Bret Calhoun, colt is already making his fifth starts since debuting July 20. He's rallied to finish second and third here in two starts at this level and distance and was just under a length in back of barn-mate 'Bruhlmeyer' last out. State bred must over-come a tough outside post.
