Top pick: #6 (BULLY GOOD) (3-1) - Heavily favored in his debut, home-bred chased a "long gone" winner and held down the place spot here at this level going 5.5 furlongs on Sept. 2. Trainer Bret Calhoun (22% 2nd time out) stretches him out (16%), and I like his chances.
2nd pick: #2 (Overspent) (5-2) - The field's most experienced runner is also the main speed. One of two entered by trainer Steve Asmussen and the pair races uncoupled. Blinkers go on and grey colt should be involved from start-to-finish. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Everyday Man) (5-1) - The second of the Asmussen pair, he makes his debut tonight and his work tab suggests he's ready first out. Gelding by "Congrats" has the rail and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #4 (Tulum) (9-2) - In a very good barn (Karl Craddock) and this colt rallied to finish second, 1 1/2 lengths in front of "Overspent" last out. Any improvement at all makes this rare Mexican-bred a contender.
