Top pick: #8 (BRIDERIA) (8-5) - One of two from trainer "Bret" Calhoun and the pair race uncoupled. Filly is working very fast locally for her first in 13 months and this daughter of "Harlan's Holiday" showed excellent early speed in her only previous race. Takes this if ready.
2nd pick: #7 (Light Striker) (3-1) - The second of the Calhoun fillies, she rallied to finish second here at this level on Sept. 1. It was her first start since Jan. 1 and she's an obvious threat with any improvement in her second off the long break.
3rd pick: #4 (Status) (4-1) - One of two from trainer Steve Asmussen and they race as separate betting interests. Claimed for $35K at Saratoga on Aug. 20, she's working nicely since for a trainer that wins at a 215 rate first off the claim.
4th pick: #3 (Seaport) (7-2) - The second of the Asmussen pair, she showed early speed here last Dec and has been on the sidelines since. Daughter of "Tapit" is working fast and must be left in the mix.
