3rd pick: #3 (Smilin Cobra) (3-1) - The second of the pair from trainer Ron Moquett, this gelding by 'Super Saver' rallied to finish third here at this tag and trip on a muddy surface Nov. 7. It was a career best to this point and it's noted that the place runner in that contest broke his maiden next out. This 3yo is the probable favorite and an obvious contender.
4th pick: #1 (Abstract Paynter) (7-2) - One of several 4yos entered, he's been competitive in all three starts since dropping down to today's $7500 claiming price. He finished fourth here Nov. 7 while just under a length behind 'Smilin Cobra' and should factor with his normal effort.
