Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (PUTTINYOUONTHENEWS) (5-2) - One of two entered by trainer Steve Asmussen and the pair race uncoupled. Filly rallied to miss by a 'head' here at this level and distance Sept. 1 and she seems set for her maiden win.
2nd pick: #2 (Bella Canzone) (8-1) - Longshot tired after chasing the pace while wide to finish 9 lengths in back of 'Puttinyouonthenews' here Sept. 1. She runs off a private trainer change to Karl Broberg (a 23% winning angle) and he adds blinkers (24%). Look for a much better effort at a big price.
3rd pick: #4 (Mad Grace) (6-1) - The second of Asmussen trained fillies, she pressed the pace before weakening to finish third when debuting at this level and distance on the Lone Star Park turf June 30. Well bred 3yo is working steadily for a 17% second-out barn.
4th pick: #6 (Run Bella Run) (10-1) - She raced both greenly and evenly when finishing 6 back of 'Puttinyouonthenews' and 3 in front of 'Bella Canzone' here Sept. 1. Only her second start, it was her first on the grass and first since debuting in a dirt sprint at Oaklawn Park March 29.
