Top pick: #2 (SENSATIONAL APPEAL) (9-2) - Nicely bred filly runs first off a Joe Smith claim and third back from a 75 day vacation. Daughter of "Successful Appeal" has back class, draws the rail, goes turf to dirt, and stretches out in distance.
2nd pick: #5 (Awesome Allison) (7-2) - Home-bred tired last out to finish third here at this level and distance in her first race in 75 days. In a winning barn (Steve Asmussen) and she was facing better this past winter/spring.
3rd pick: #1a (Macho Sista) (3-1) - She's part of a "Bret" Calhoun entry and he has the same rider listed on both halves. This filly broke her maiden here going 7 furlongs on Aug. 30 and is nicely spotted in her first facing winners.
4th pick: #8 (Tomorrow's Moon) (5-1) - Mare has some early speed and ships here from Canterbury Downs where she set the pace and weakened late to finish fourth when racing at this level and distance. Her early speed makes her a bit dangerous.
