Top pick: #7 (MASTER THE BLUES) (8-1) - Mare ships from Tampa Bay where she won three of five starts this past winter racing on both dirt and turf. Speed/stalker has done well here in the past (8-1-2-1) and broke her maiden on this surface last Sept. Gets a slight edge at a square price.
2nd pick: #2 (Disco Barbie) (5-2) - Barn (Dale Capuano) won one here yesterday and brings this promising filly back off a trouble start at Pimlico April 27th. She raced evenly that day after hitting the gate at the break in what was her first in almost a year. Has the rail and I could have easily made her the top choice. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Ghost Flower) (9-2) - Veteran was never involved facing tougher on the Gulfstream grass April 13th. However, it was her first since Nov. 9 and has the look of nothing more than a conditioning run. Stakes placed daughter of "Ghostzapper" likes it here at 5-1-2-0 and is a threat with her best.
4th pick: #1a (Platinum Steel) (4-1) - She stumbled last out at Keeneland and tired badly after rushing up into the pace picture. It was her first start in a half-year and this Pa.-bred loves the local surface (11-3-3-2). Don't just dismiss.
