Top pick: #10 (ZENDARA) (4-1) - One of two entered by trainer Randy Russell, and the pair race uncoupled. This mare by "Mizzen Mast" finished third here at this tag going five-furlongs a week ago in her first start in 18-months. Brought back quickly, she has a fine outside post, and is the top pick.
nd pick: #9 (Noya) (5-2) - The probable favorite, lightly raced filly missed by a "nose" here at this tag & trip on Nov. 8. Strong finisher is an obvious win candidate in this spot.
rd pick: #3 (Left Uppercut) (5-1) - Mare tired here to finish a distant third after being involved in a speed duel going a mile on Sept. 10. Home bred has been competitive in all three local starts, and the cut back in distance is in her favor.
th pick: #7 (Morning Headache) (3-1) - Filly by "Repent" was bet down to favoritism when debuting here on Sept. 8, and she rallied to finish fourth, a bit over two lengths behind "Noya." Trainer Mike Ferraro wins at a 23% rate second time out, and it's noted that jockey Daniel Vergara is once again in for the mount.
th pick: #1 (Hy Boo Boo) (8-1) - The second of the Russell pair, she's taking a big drop in class for this attempt. Even paced type has the rail and should contend on the drop.
