Four-year-old has had his career limited by injuries, but looked sharp when breaking his maiden here at this distance July 22. Strong finisher was racing off a 16 1/2 month layoff and a private trainer change to Mike Trombetta. He faces tougher today, but still has room for upside.
2nd pick: #5 (Invisible) (7-2) - One of two entered by trainer Teresa Connelly and the pair race un-coupled. Stalker fits with these and comes off a pair of solid back-to-back efforts.
3rd pick: #2 (Rock Scene) (5-2) - Lightly-raced and speedy, he finished second here at this level and distance July 22. He set a pressured pace and held gamely in his first ever on a synthetic surface. Four-year-old is making back-to-back starts for the first time and is an obvious contender.
4th pick: #1 (Areed) (5-1) - The second of the Connelly pair, he has the rail and last out finished fourth of six, while 2-lengths behind 'Rock Scene. $450K gelding by 'Tapit' is capable, but will need a fast and/or contested pace for anything more than a minor award.
