Top pick: #1 (JAMES JINGLE) (9-2) - Veteran missed by a 'head' here at this tag going a mile July 1. Only his second back from a 9 1/2 month layoff, this 5-year-old was once a classier runner. Stalker has the rail and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Sheer Talent) (5-1) - Dangerous rival, 6-year-old has gone 8-0-3-3 so far this year and is 4-0-2-1 since coming east from Santa Anita. Stalker is in shape and should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #4 (Network News) (6-1) - Lightly-raced 6-year-old has some early speed and last out checked in third, only 1 1/2 lengths behind 'James Jingle.' Back in shape following an eight-month layoff, he can factor on the front end.
4th pick: #2 (Classy Al) (10-1) - Like his name implies, 'Al' was once a classier type. He's string starts together after several long layoffs and last out he was far back of both 'Jingle' and 'Sheer Talent.'
