Top pick: #5 (VALKYRIA) (5-1) - Lightly-raced stalker has won three-of-six overall and is a perfect two-for-two here at Presque Isle. Grey 3-year-old has only raced poorly twice and moth came in sprint stakes on the Monmouth Park dirt. In shape, she's one of two entered by trainer Gerald Bennett and the pair race uncoupled. Daughter of 'Value Plus' has a solid shot at a square price.
2nd pick: #6 (Wild Swava) (3-1) - She knows how to get to the winner's circle (17 for 23 overall) and has won on turf, dirt, and poly. She's two-for-three this year and grey mare ran second here earlier in her career in her only local appearance. In shape and trainer Mike Maker shortens her up in distance. Obvious threat.
3rd pick: #7 (Haines City) (7-2) - Very lightly-raced, speedy mare was an easy wire-to-wire winner here facing weaker July 26. It was her first start in 10 1/2 months and ran her local record to 4-3-1-0. The figure earned last out was by far a career best and a repeat of it makes her a serious win candidate.
4th pick: #4 (Miss Mischief) (3-1) - Veteran mare ships down from Woodbine where she ran second and third in a pair of stakes. She seems best going a bit longer, but that' off-set by her perfect local record (three-for-three). The faster the pace, the better her chances.
