Top pick: #2 (CANDY SHACK) (5-2) - Lightly raced and talented son of "Candy Ride" was a very impressive winner of an entry-level allowance for Pa-breds going 5.5 furlongs on May 27. Career best came off a 9 1/2 month layoff and, trainer Joe Martin will test this promising runner around two-turns for the first time.
2nd pick: #8 (Impassable Canyon) (3-1) - Lightly raced son of "Tapit" is another trying two-turns for the first time, and this home-bred has been sharp in his first two starts. In the dangerous barn of Mike Maker, and a win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Always for You) (10-1) - Finger Lakes invader broke his maiden there on June 1, and it earned him a career best "figure." He's run well in the past and finished second at this distance on the Belmont park grass last fall. Don't just dismiss.
4th pick: #5 (Bluegrass Ball) (15-1) - Longshot was an easy winner here sprinting against weaker on June 6. Impressive win was in his first ever on a synthetic surface, and the barn brings him back quickly, moves him way up in class, and stretches him out in distance.
