Top pick: #1 (SHE'S SASSY) (3-1) - Mare is racing off a pair of layoffs and moving back to a synthetic surface for the first time in just under a year. She ran well here at that time in both appearances and ships in from Penn National of a pair of good works. Can take this with her best.
2nd pick: #3 (Diana's Daisy) (5-2) - She ships in from Monmouth where she raced evenly at this level going 8.5-furlongs on the grass. Good effort was her second back off a brief freshening and it's noted that leading rider Gallardo is signed on today.
3rd pick: #2 (Top of the Stretch) (5-1) - Lightly-raced filly is dropping down in class and attempting a two-turn distance for the first time. She appears to be the main speed and her trainer (Nick Caruso) is having a strong meet 35-9-3-4. Filly is dangerous on the front end.
4th pick: #5 (Stickthelanding) (4-1) - Filly has raced evenly in all five starts since here since coming off an 8 1/2 month layoff in late May. All have been against tougher and her owner/trainer drops her down in class. Believe at this point that a small slice is her ceiling.
