Top pick: #4 (LOOKOUT LADY) (7-2) - Home bred daughter of 'Smart Strike' has been freshened up since a wide and even effort at this level in a sprint at Penn National Jan 2. She was competitive here at this distance a year ago when still a maiden and can take this with her best.
2nd pick: #5 (Not So Lovely) (3-1) - Speed/stalker ships from Tampa Bay Downs where she finished a distant second going a mile on the turf April 1st. Nice effort came off a 7-week freshening and 3-year-old is a major threat if she handles the synthetic surface.
3rd pick: #3 (Afleet Alexa) (5-1) - On the sidelines since Sept. 16, daughter of 'Afleet Alex' finished fourth here that day going 5.5-furlongs at this level. She had gone 3-1-1-1 before that and won her debut, so you know she can fire fresh.
4th pick: #1 (Rare Mix) (3-1) - Bred/owned/trained by 'Hall of Famer" Jonathan Sheppard, filly rallied to win her debut a year ago at Penn National. Race was at this distance on the grass and she's been un-raced since. Top barn is sending out it's first starter at this young meet and usually does great work here.
