2nd pick: #1 (Monster Sleeping) (9-5) - I could have easily made this surface loving mare the top choice as she has the rail, early speed, and has gone 5-2-2-1 here in the past. Maryland-bred stakes winner runs third back off a 5 1/2 month layoff and has finished 2nd in both of her return starts. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Jamraa) (6-1) - Another veteran mare, she's stretching out off a pair of 4th place finishes going 6.5-furlongs. She's 5 for 16 locally and 1 for 13 elsewhere and can factor with her best.
4th pick: #6 (Disarona) (9-2) - She ran evenly here at this trip facing entry-level allowance foes on may 11. It was her first ever on a synthetic surface and she faces a pretty tough group in today's opener. A small slice appears to be her ceiling.
