Top pick: #8 (D'AVIGNON) (4-1) - Augustin home bred makes his first start since early July and first in North America. Four-year-old son of 'Smart Strike' went 6-0-2-1 in England, including a near miss at the important spring session at Newmarket a year ago. Working nicely for his return, trainer Jonathan Sheppard is a perfect 4-for-4 so far at this young meet.
2nd pick: #5 (Itsthesameoldsong) (5-2) - Home bred by 'Unbridled's Song' ships in from Thistledown where he set quick fractions in both starts and held gamely to miss by less than a length in each. The latest on May 16th earned him the highest figure any of these has reached to date. Obvious win candidate and should be viewed as the equal of 'D'avignon.'
3rd pick: #1a (Unlikely Scenario) (7-2) - Another that's well bred, he ships in from Mountaineer Park where he missed by a 'nose' there at this level May 23rd going 5 furlongs on the grass. Five-year-old by 'Distorted Humor' had a lot of promise early in his career, but was injured during the fall of 2012 and has only made two starts since then.
4th pick: #3 (Queyasas) (8-1) - He began his career in July of 2012 then didn't race again until Jan. of 2014. On the sidelines since, he's working fast for his return and can factor at a square price if ready.
