Top pick: #4 (MASTER THE BLUES) (2-1) - Lightly raced filly has the best visible speed and finished third here at this level going six furlongs May 16. Excellent effort came in her first on a synthetic surface and trainer Kate O'Connell shortens her up a 1/16th of a mile, and that's in her favor.
2nd pick: #1 (Indian Pepper) (3-1) - Grey mare was only 1 1/2 back of "Blues" last out in her first race in seven months. Has the rail. Good early speed, and daughter of "Macho Uno" should be much fitter in her second off the long layoff. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Queen Frostine) (7-2) - Nicely-bred filly races third off a 13 month layoff and showed some renewed interest in her second back. Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" has a new trainer (Joe Martin), and 4yo will be racing on a synthetic surface for the first time.
4th pick: #2 (Prom Gown) (12-1) - Filly by "Artie Schiller" runs off an 11 month layoff, but has a bullet half-mile breeze here (best of 46) on the morning of May 16. Could grab a share at a big price if ready.
