Top pick: #7 (RAGING MARKET) (3-1) - Gelding finished a distant second here last out in his third appearance since coming off a seven month layoff June 15th. Trainer Tim Hamm brings him back quickly for this and he can take this with a bit more improvement.
2nd pick: #2 (Supermon) (5-2) - Grey gelding is racing first off a Gerald Brooks claim and the new trainer has enjoyed a spectacular meet from his medium size operation 30-10-6-6. Three-year-old moves up in class and is cutting back in distance after finishing second in two straight when facing maiden claimers going around two-turns. Looks set for a big effort.
3rd pick: #6 (Honour Zone) (7-2) - He's one of two entered by trainer Joe Martin and the pair race uncoupled. The speedier of the two, gelding tired after chasing the pace in the same last race as "Raging Market." He was 1 1/2 lengths in back of him at the finish, but his early speed advantage makes him a win candidate.
4th pick: #1 (Papamac) (6-1) - The second of the Martin maidens, he raced evenly in the same July 30th contest as both "Raging Market" and "Honour Zone" but was within range of them at the finish. Has the rail and can factor at a square price.
