Premium Pick

Top pick: #8 (I'M MOM'S FAVORITE) (2-1) - Lightly-raced filly by "Indian Charlie" come off a career best when she defeated weaker here at this distance on April 13th. She's improved in every start since her debut on Dec. 15 and should get a fast pace to stalk. Gets a slight edge in a competitive contest.

2nd pick: #10 (Jewel of a Cat) (12-1) - Price play has yet to run a poor race (5-3-2-0) and was a winner on this surface April 20th in a 5-furlong stakes that was taken "off the turf." In a great small barn (Ben Perkins Jr.) and a win candidate at long odds.

3rd pick: #9 (Lighthouse Bay) (8-1) - She was reported to be a runner before debuting late in the Saratoga meet and went (3-2-1-0) after coming to the races and won a $100K stakes at Laurel on Nov. 3. Sent in for a five month break, she tired in her return at Gulfstream on April 4th, but it was a useful race and she did not break cleanly. Dangerous with her best.

4th pick: #2 (Tread) (9-2) - Lightly-raced and speedy, Claiborne home-bred is (3-2-1-0) and is a nose short of being undefeated. Filly breaks just off the rail and will need to avoid an early tussle with "Livin Peace" to have a shot at the win.

5th pick: #11 (Livin Peace) (10-1) - Her outside dictates her strategy as speed-ball will need to be sent hard from the start by jockey Robbie Albarado. Working fine and last out she just missed in a small stakes at Prairie Meadows in Iowa.
