Top pick: #4 (HOLD THE WIRE) (5-2) - Expensive ($260K) gelding by "Tiznow" rallied to finish second here at this tag & trip on Oct. 6th. It was his first local start, first for trainer Keith Nations, and he had to overcome a "bobbling" start. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Talent Show) (8-5) - The morning line favorite he ships back from Belmont where he raced evenly on a "muddy" surface following a "troubled" break. Lightly raced and well bred, he's dropping back down and shortening up in distance. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (West Terrace) (8-1) - The field's lone debuting runner has a fine series of works showing, and trainer Bill Hedus is capable first out (21%). 3yo gelding by "Graeme Hall" looks set to factor.
4th pick: #2 (The Toddfather) (8-1) - Gelding showed absolutely nothing when debuting here facing tougher on Sept. 29th. Top barn (Bob Reid, Jr.) drops him in class (33%) and adds Lasix (25%). Working fast for this, and believe he'll be competitive with the changes.
