Top pick: #9 (CINCO Y CINCO) (6-1) - Price play has been competitive in all three local starts since coming from Canterbury Downs in Sept. Grey gelding ran fourth in his latest while having some traffic issues, and moves from the rail to the outside, a plus at this 7-furlong trip.
2nd pick: #5 (Synchronous) (4-1) - Lightly raced speed/stalker enters off a career best when he was an easy winner here racing going 5.5-furlongs against a bit weaker Nov. 23rd. It was his first off a Patty Farro claim and a subsequent 7-week freshening. The "figure" earned was by far the best of any of these in recent starts and makes him a win candidate if repeatable.
3rd pick: #7 (By a Hundreth) (7-2) - Grey gelding is moving up in class and shortening up in distance for this attempt. One run type was a winner last out at Laurel going a "flat" mile and is nicely spotted by a top barn (Graham Motion).
4th pick: #3 (Siete de Oros) (3-1) - He has a ton of back class, but is coming off his second consecutive long layoff. He placed in several "graded" stakes earlier in his career and ran evenly here in two starts this past spring after coming back from a year's break. In a top outfit (Ramon Preciado), and a threat with his best.
