Top pick: #5 (SUNSHINE KEN) (8-5) - Gelding is clearly the main speed, and he meets a very weak field. 3yo by "Lion Hearted" finished a pace setting second here facing a bit tougher on Nov. 18th. It was his first off a Mike Pino claim, and he drops him back down the $10K purchase price. Much the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Armani the Won) (8-1) - One of two making their debuts, colt is from a winning barn (Phil Aristone), draws the rail, and is working steadily. He need not be much to factor against this crew.
3rd pick: #10 (Granville's Way) (7-2) - He raced evenly while "bearing out" here going 5-furlongs on Nov. 11th. 3yo had a tough outside post and does so again today. However, the extra 1/16th he travels should allow him to have a better position before entering the turn. His owner/trainer (Pete Granville) also gives him a rider upgrade.
4th pick: #3 (Imaginaryweekend) (6-1) - Away since Aug. 17th, 5yo has a pair of sharp back-to-back works showing and should be competitive if he can repeat the times in the afternoon.
