Top pick: #6 (LEGAL RING) (3-1) - Canadian bred makes her conventional dirt debut and does so off a 7-week freshening. Filly has a new trainer (Keith Nations 28% with new arrivals), and she's finished fourth in three straight on Woodbine's synthetic surface. Stalker fits with these and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Riddle Me This) (5-2) - Filly cost $100K and ships down from New York for the powerful barn of Rudy Rodriguez. She's coming off an even effort in the mud racing for a $25K tag. Barn drops her to a new low and stretches her back out in distance. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Red Sox Fan) (4-1) - Stalker has been competitive in three of her four starts. She missed by a "neck" here at this tag going 6-furlongs on Dec. 14th, and the additional furlong of today's contest is in her favor.
4th pick: #7 (Halli's Grand Slam) (7-2) - Lightly raced filly showed some early speed last out before encountering some traffic issues on the turn. In a winning barn (Lou Linder, Jr.), and she draws a nice outside post.
