Top pick: #1 (MIDNIGHT WIND) (5-2) - The main speed, he's taking a big drop in class, and is breaking from the rail. He tired last out after his jockey let him roll thru fast fractions. Trainer Marc Zulueta has veteran Tammy Piermarini aboard today, and this 4yo colt should take this group from start-to-finish.
2nd pick: #7 (Louisville Bound) (5-1) - Speed/stalker has been competitive in four straight, two here and a pair at Penn National. He draws outside of the speed and should get a good stalking position. His best chance would be if someone tries to make 'Midnight Wind' run hard early.
3rd pick: #3 (One Big Book) (7-2) - Lightly raced, he's won two in a row since finishing third in his debut April 9. Speed/stalker is still improving and is from the barn of leading trainer Ramon Preciado. In the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Trust Issues) (8-1) - He moves up a condition after rallying to win here at this tag & trip April 21. He cleared the 2l condition that day in his second back off almost a 5 1/2 month layoff. A fast work May 9 indicates he'll be competitive despite the rise in class.
